Discovering Entrepreneurship First Admitted Class
January 18, 2008 | 1 Comment
Wow, today’s class was absolutely amazing. Kimber was the only one there there again (Vivian was on Snow Trip last time - not sure this time), but she did an amazing job. Most of the class today focused on a presentation/discussion featuring Tom Byers, and we would have had a greater group discussion afterwards, but Jason and I had to leave for our Snow Trip.

ETL - Mitch Kapor
January 16, 2008 | Leave a Comment
This week’s ETL was Mitch Kapor. He is the founder of both Foxmarks and Lotus, and he has a major reputation in the Valley. At first glance, I didn’t think he would be a very engaging or entertaining speaker, but once he started talking about what he’s done and what he’s passionate about, he became as engaging and thought-provoking as any other speaker I’ve heard. I think the structure I’m going to follow with each of the speakers is a list of take-away lessons/info.

Social Entrepreneurship ASB - Class Two

Tonight’s class was interesting and a bit of a bonding experience. I have high expectations for this class, especially since we will be spending a week traveling around visiting different socially entrepreneurial organizations, and getting to know one another even better will be extremely helpful when we start helping those organizations with random tasks. Tonight’s class definitely lived up to that expectation, and here is a quick overview of what we accomplished.

Stanford BASES
January 12, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Stanford’s Business Association of Stanford Entrepreneurial Students (BASES) is a great website for general information regarding the entrepreneurial happenings here at Stanford. The goal is to explore issues, facilitate exchange, and provide a forum for students, faculty and professionals in regards to everything entrepreneurship. Overall, the website is lackluster in a couple ways, but the nuggets that a person finds make it well worth exploring. I will admit, though, that I was overall just a tad disappointed with this “glowing” organization.
